Art is the highest form of hope." Gerhard Richter"
Sapir College’s Art Department is home to practical art studies, a space for creativity and critical exploration. The intimate environment facilitates personal and professional development, with a teaching staff of leading names in the Israeli contemporary art scene.
The department offers extensive training in various artistic media, from classic techniques to modern technologies, while combining 2D and 3D media: drawing, painting, photography and video art, sculpture, performance, and installation.
The program offers a unique Bachelor of Arts dual-major track, consisting of practical creative work and community-participatory art.
This approach draws on the principle of the arts as integral to the social fabric, and therefore strives to develop creative, entrepreneurial, and critical thinking, along two parallel circles, the personal and the social, in everyday life, as in wider cultural contexts.
