"Smart City" approaches generally help local government institutions to better manage their spaces as well as provide services that are more efficient to the local population. The Smart Communities in the Periphery Lab focuses on the needs of local residents in the Western Negev region.
Last year’s project focused on a student developed app, citywide signage, and communications campaign, to inform local residents about the nearest safe spaces during rocket attacks, earthquakes and other natural disasters.
