We were honored to host H.E. Simon Geissbuehler, Ambassador of Switzerland to Israel, for his second visit to Sapir College.

During his previous visit, at the height of the conflict, our discussions centered around resilience and the challenges our region was facing.
This time, the conversation focused on the strengths, creativity, and community spirit that define Sapir and the Western Negev.

The Ambassador met with representatives from the Center for Bedouin Society Research, expressing deep interest in their important work to foster understanding and regional cooperation.
He then visited the School of Cinema, where Department Head Jonathan Bar Giora presented the school’s vision and its unique role in the Negev, far from Tel Aviv’s film industry, yet at the heart of authentic Israeli storytelling.

The visit concluded with the screening of a short film by a first-year student - a moving reminder of the talent, courage, and creativity nurtured at Sapir.
We thank the Ambassador for his visit, his thoughtful engagement, and his kind words to our faculty and team following the visit.

Special thanks as well to Limor Flanter Faran, Head of International Office for the warm coordination and organization.
