Cinema South Festival Development Workshops
Cinema South Festival, in collaboration with the School of Audio & Visual Arts at Sapir College and various partners from Israel and abroad, operates year-round international creative and development labs and workshops for emerging filmmakers at the outset of their professional careers, and we are proud to serve as a prestigious and comprehensive platform for fostering and promoting groundbreaking Israeli cinema.
The Studio Darom Workshop, now marking its 10th year, is held as part of Cinema South’s annual program in collaboration with the Festival of 3 Continents in Nantes, France; the Israel "Mifal HaPais" Council for Culture & Arts, the Negev Film Fund, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Rabinovich Foundation and the Institut Français; The DocoCast Workshop for Documentary Podcast projects will take place this year for the first time in Sderot, in partnership with the Institute Français; The Through a Woman’s Eyes Development Lab for female creators from the Bedouin community, led by Sigalit Banai and in collaboration with the Negev Film Fund: These projects embody the spirit of the festival and its commitment to be a home for emerging filmmakers and for new, diverse, and essential local creation.
