Cinema South Festival, in collaboration with the Festival of the Three Continents (Nantes), Mifal HaPais, the French Institute in Israel, the Negev Film Fund, and the Rabinovich Foundation, is proud to mark ten years of the international development lab - Studio Darom.
Created for filmmakers working on their first feature film, this project has supported and nurtured over 40 debut works in the past decade. At this year’s festival, we are honored to present four new Israeli films by Studio Darom alumni.
A public pitch event, hosted by French producer Dominique Welinski and screenwriter Ori Sivan, will feature the four teams who participated in the 10th Studio Darom Lab, held this past September in France.
A special reunion gathering of Studio Darom participants from all years will take place prior to the Israeli premiere of the debut feature The Second Suicide of Tom, developed in the 2020 edition of Studio Darom."
