The Other Side

USA | 2015 | 92 Min | English | Documentary | Hebrew Subtitles

In the impoverished American South, decades of economic and geographical segregation have contributed to the creation of an underworld where jobs and justice are scarcely found. "The Other Side" digs deep into this underworld, telling the stories of two neighboring communities in Louisiana: a couple and their extended family, who are trying to stay united despite being plagued by methamphetamine addiction; and a paramilitary group, formed by war veterans who are preparing for a potential coup. Both communities live in a permanent state of fear, alienation, and distrust toward the government. Crossing the line between fiction and documentary, "The Other Side" shows a face of America that is fighting its own inner war.
