Popular festival, religious pilgrimage, souk and trade fair, the Moussem of Moulay Abdallah, facing the Atlantic Ocean south of El Jadida in Morocco, is the most famous for its fantasia. Each year it brings together nearly a thousand horses and riders. In successive waves, the troops surge to the official stands, pulling the last stand in unison. Toufik Naomi, 22, the most gifted rider will be the lucky winner of the of the 1997 Moussem.
