My Home - Studio Darom Participants 2015
Synopsis
The traumatic collective memories of an entire people stand in the way of a young woman trying to find a home in the present. The close relationship between Neta and her father, the son of Holocaust survivors, is tested when Neta decides to leave Israel and emigrate to Germany to follow her love for Martin.
As Neta searches for a place that feels like home and her father confronts his daughter's choices, both must face the collective memories of the past they carry with them and redefine their personal identities. 'Home' is a contemplative visual animation monologue from the perspectives of Neta and her father, through which the viewer encounters the dilemmas facing second and third generation Holocaust survivors.
