Graphic novels and the Holocaust "Representations of the Holocaust in Graphic Novels" is a new international course that was recently launched by Prof. Na'ama Sheffi from the Department of Communications at Sapir College and Prof. Katarina Bader from Stuttgart, Media University (Hochschule der Medien in Stuttgart).

Sapir President, Prof. Shai Feldman, appeared on Thursday, February 18 on a zoom panel hosted by the prestigious Washington DC think-tank, the Center for the National Interest. The panel, titled "Biden, the Middle East, and Iran" focused on the Biden administration's policy regarding Iran's nuclear efforts. Feldman, a former director of Brandeis University's Crown Center for Middle East Studies, was joined on the panel by Gary Samore, former Assistant to President Barack Obama for Nuclear Security and the Crown Center's current director, and by Ellen Laipson, former Vice Chair of the U.S.

Three of Sapir’s senior and junior faculty will be presenting at the annual College Art Association conference, the United State’s most prestigious Art History Conference, to be held virtually and in New York City from 10-13 February. On January 21, Israel's Council on Higher Education approved the promotion of Orit Nuttman-Shwartz to the rank of Full Professor at Sapir Academic College, thus recognizing her pathbreaking research on trauma. Prof. Shwartz is the founding chair of Sapir's School of Social Work. For the past three decades, she has been investigating the many aspects of trauma associated with life under continuous threat of terror. Another important dimension of her work are the processes through which individuals develop resilience in the face of trauma-causing developments and events.
