This talk will present an overview of the work done by Makor Media Lab over the past decade and showcase a selection of experiences developed and produced with the Foundation’s support. We will explore how to tell cinematic stories using new technologies, how the viewer’s experience changes when becoming an active participant, and how immersive technology opens new doors for creative expression and imagination.
Maya Shekel | Moosh Studio for XR Production
On the creative and production process of Eddie and I, an interactive animated project in virtual reality. A look at the collaborations formed along the way, funding sources, and distribution channels in Israel and abroad.
Chani Koplowitz & Miriam Cohen | JVR360
How can a personal story or testimony be transformed into an immersive experience that surrounds the viewer from all sides? In their talk, Chani and Miriam will share their journey in the world of VR- a path that began with a sense of responsibility to act where voices and female presence were missing. They will discuss their creative processes, their work with sensitive materials, and the challenges of building emotionally engaging experiences for broad audiences, as in the projects 360° in Auschwitz, Night to Night about Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, and Tiger’s Mother about Iris Haim.
At the exhibition, you’ll be able to experience a variety of VR works from Israel and around the world:
Eddie and I - Maya Shekel | Feingold Syndrome | Nimrod Shapira - Roy Lev | Points of Light - Adam Weingrod | To Breathe - Michael Kolchinski | Murder at the Mansion - Adam Horowitz | Night to Night - Chani Koplowitz and Miriam Cohen | On the Morning You Wake - Mike Brett, Steve Jamison, Arnaud Colinart & Pierre Zandrowicz | Notes on Blindness - Peter Middleton & James Spinney | Emperor - Marion Burger & Ilan J.
