This hands-on workshop is designed for filmmakers, dancers, and choreographers, and takes place as part of the launch of Seret Na 2.0- a new open call for Southern-made dance films, supported by the United Negev Film Fund in collaboration with the Choreographers’ Association and the Sderot Adama Movement Center.
Since October 7th, many of us have felt that words are no longer sufficient; that pain, stress, and trauma have built up somewhere in the bodyand perhaps this is where expression must begin. In this experiential workshop, we will explore the intersection of body, movement, and cinema.
Together, we’ll discover how any everyday object can become a powerful symbol through choreography, cinematography, and editing- and how blending dance and film can create something magical. The workshop invites participants to embody emotion and translate sensation into story- even with -out words.
Led by Irad Ben-Gal- a dancer, choreographer, and dance filmmaker who has been living and working in Sderot for the past eight years as part of the Sderot Adama Movement Center.
