Francesca - The Official Trailer

Israel | 2024 | 64 min. | Hebrew, Polish, Slovak, Yiddish | Documentary

This is a Holocaust story from every possible angle. A young Jewish dancer moves with her family to the Warsaw ghetto, lives there near its destruction, becomes entangled in the Hotel Polski affair, passes through Bergen-Belsen, and ultimately faces her final days in Auschwitz.
It is the story of a brave, complex woman - full of promise - who likely saw herself not as a Jewish woman but as a ballerina at the height of her career. She was not political and held no strong social or national views. Trapped against her will, she was forced to make impossible choices.
In a moment of extraordinary courage, she inspired others: “If she could do something like this, maybe there is hope for us.”
Today, this forgotten young woman finally claims her rightful place among the heroes of the Holocaust.
