Stop the Pounding Heart

Sara is a young girl who belongs to a family of goat farmers.  Her parents, Tim and LeeAnne, educate their twelve children at home, by strictly following the precepts of the Bible. Sara’s spiritual beliefs face a heavy test when she meets Colby, a young bull rider who lives in a nearby village, where Sara’s family sells milk.  Slowly but steadily, Sara’s begins to wonder about her own moral values, and questions herself as a woman worthy of God. Stop the Pounding Heart is an exploration of adolescence, gender roles, religion and faith, family and social values, in today’s America.
