Synopsis
Michaela Weiss, a young Israeli woman, travels to her grandmother’s hometown in Poland. When she arrives there, she realizes her face is identical to Sonya's, a local Polish girl who has been missing for the last two years. Michaela begins a journey through Poland, trying to figure out who Sonya was, what happened to her, and how they could have the same face. As Michaela studies Sonya’s behavior, she slowly melds her identity with Sonya's as she tries to realize a connection to her own personal family history.
Shira Sznaider | Director
Shira Sznaider, born in 1994, grew up alternately between Tel-Aviv and Germany. Since 2013 she has been a student at the Steve Tisch School of Film and television in Tel-Aviv University. Her diploma film, “Sonya”, was produced and shot in Poland, and is now in development into a feature film
Eviatar Moncaz | Producer
Eviatar Moncaz was born in 1989 in Jerusalem, Israel. Since 2013, he’s a student of film and television at the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television in Tel Aviv University. He works as a director, a producer and an art director in the various film and television projects.
