Call For Entries - International Short Cinema Competition 2022

Cinema South Festival invites filmmakers to submit their short film in diverse genres:
fiction, documentary, hybrid, experimental, animation and others, to the festival that will take place between 6-10 November 2022.

CSF is produced in the south, by the people of the south, and is based on a unique cultural agenda relevant to its location. "The South" is a cinematic worldview that heralds a cinema of meager means, yet rich in compassion; a metaphor for films made in the peripheries in view of evoking a critical dialogue.

The festival is seeking films by filmmakers who have an explicit artistic signature and style that apply a bold cinematic language with a profound focus on content and form.

Who can submit?

  • Independent filmmakers of films: fiction, documentary, hybrid, experimental, animation and others produced between 2021-2022.
  • Duration of film up to 25 mins.
  • Films must not be submitted that were produced in a school setting (student films).
  • The screening of the film at CSF must be an Israeli premiere, therefore a film must not be submitted that was screened or broadcast in Israel.

The application must be submitted via electronic registration form in English and signed by the applicant on the festival website (via the electronic form) with a link to view the film (if the film is not complete, a rough-cut version will be submitted).

**The festival board is authorized, at its discretion and at any time, to disqualify the application of any film whereby the details on the registration form are incomplete and/or incorrect and/or the applicant did not comply with an undertaking above and/or according to the program regulations.
