On Thursday, August 13, 2026, another group of students completed the unique workshop on “The Holocaust and the Law” at the Sapir School of Law, led by the Honorable Justice Esther Hayut, Retired President of the Supreme Court of Israel.
The workshop was a meaningful and educational experience for the students.
Dr. Edo Eshet, Dean of the School of Law, stated: “The School of Law is proud and delighted that the Honorable President chose to teach at the School again this year, and I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to her for creating a meaningful learning environment.”
We thank everyone who contributed to the workshop’s success, and especially the students who took part in it.
The Honorable President Hayut began her judicial career in 1990 as a judge of the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court. In 1997, she was appointed to the Tel Aviv District Court, and in 2004, she was appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court. Justice Hayut served as Chair of the Central Elections Committee and Chair of the Judges’ Ethics Committee. In 2017, she was appointed President of the Supreme Court, a position she held until her retirement in 2023.
