In 1963, Nehorai left Morocco for Israel against his will. Despite building a good life in Israel, he has always regretted leaving. Again and again, his memories carry him back to Gourama, his hometown on the edge of the Sahara - to his family, his beloved mother, and a bygone world. Nehorai left Gourama, but Gourama has never left him.
