Fiction, documentary, animation, and everything in between.
What are the challenges facing the production of an animated film in general and doing it in Israel in particular? How do you choose the right technique both for script and content considerations and for production considerations? What is a "pipeline?" How do you work with a team of animators and background designers? And what about animation directing, and editing?
After a journey of around a decade, in which they switched between several animation teams and experimented with different techniques, Uri Merentz (director and screenwriter), Elad Peleg (producer), Dafna Englander (designer), Ariad shiknagi (Composing and After Effects) and Yoav Harel (Editor), will tell about the work processes and what they went through on the way from the concept stage to making a film that started as a documentary, turned into an animated film, which led to the final decision to combine animation with live-action footage filmed on a green screen. They will first reveal excerpts from the film and show the products of the various work processes.
The film "Melech HaChagigat," tells the story of the chemist who invented the "Chagigat" drug and became one of the largest "legal" drug barons in the world.
