Sapir is the only Israeli academic institution located in The Gaza Envelope, located in the Shaar Hanegev local authority, on the outskirts of Sderot, less than 2 miles from the border. Sapir has grown to one of the largest public colleges in Israel with approximately 7,000-8,000 students in academic and vocational programs.
On October 7th, The Sapir community suffered unbearable horror in Hamas’ brutal terrorist attack. We mourn the 47 students, alumni and staff, as well as a member of the board of trustees, along with dozens of their family members who were murdered, injured, and kidnapped.
Students and staff living in Gaza Envelope were forced to evacuate their homes. Dispersed throughout the country, most have started to return to the region. However, some remain in temporary accommodation as their communities must be rebuilt.

Ensure equal opportunities and remove financial barriers for students from low-income backgrounds.
Reservist Support Funds
Provide direct assistance to students who served in prolonged military reserve duty, impacting their academic stability.
Infrastructure and Magen (Protection)
Upgrade learning spaces, renovate damaged areas, and ensure protected study environments for all students.
