"The Start Your Startup" course is designed to provide participants with essential tools for initiating and running a Startup and with insights from Israeli Academicians, Entrepreneurs, Angels, Lawyers and Venture Capitals, that play a significant role in the Israeli Startup scene. If you are looking for an opportunity to improve your knowledge base and build a repertoire of startup success story, don’t miss this unique and innovative course.
Extended Introductory:

  • The course topics selection is varied from business and management fields, and balanced with learning breadths (concepts), and practical depths (special off-campus video series, practical exercises). Many short case studies from the Israeli Start-up Scene are brocaded along the course to
  • reflect real success or failure testimonials stories.
  • Students will learn to passionate their idea, prepare for changes, manage opportunities, take risks, plan the best and prepare for the worst, build swat teams, clarify goals and build trust with their stakeholders.

Dr. Hanan Maoz, Sapir College, Main Course Lecturer
Dr. Hanan Maoz is a lecturer in Sapir College in the Technology-Marketing Department. Dr. Maoz is leading the ERASMUS+ international projects operations in Sapir College with wide range of education initiatives and services for students, lecturers and the community surround.
His main academic research focuses on Management of Entrepreneurship in ICT, including applied research in Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Applications, Cloud Computing, Software Investments and ICT for Education. During the past few years, Dr. Maoz initiated few Industry-Academic-Circles in Israel and in Europe, to build new international curricula and research, based on constructivist approaches with Distance-Learning activities.
Dr. Maoz earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel; an MBA in Finance and a M.Sc. in Information Technologies, both from Tel-Aviv University in Israel.
Previously, Dr. Maoz worked in AudioCodes Inc. (NASDAC: AUDC) as a Vice President of Business Operations and a CEO of Natural Speech Communication Ltd. Dr Maoz has vast experience of more than 15 years in the software industry at Oracle Corp. (NASDAC: ORCL) and Lotus Development (IBM Subsidiary) in a variety of executive positions.

1. Sapir Academic Departments are working together during the past 3 years, on building uniquecurricula in the areas of Creative Design, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Among them areTechnology Marketing, Computer Science, Industrial Management, Economics, Laws, and Human Resources. This unique pedagogic mutual efforts and partnership, led by the Sapir's academic pedagogic committee, fueled the initiation of "Start Your Start-up" MOOC enabled course.
2. Sapir College leveraged more than ten (10) international EU Grants, won and earned during 2011-2016, to formulate academic programs which focus on "Internationalization of the Curricula". These initiatives support strict modern methodologies and worldwide lesson learned. The vast knowledge created with international curricula building has been inserted within the development process of the new offered course.
3. One of Sapir College core value is to enable better "Employability" to its students and alumni, and hence, we emphasizing on building unique curricula, which will be well balanced between rigorous academic requirements and practical aspects for practitioners. This innovative balance was shaped and polished during the past few years and yielded with true, useful insights on brining valuable and attractive courses for national and international students.

"Start Your Start-up" course empowers participants with the ability to envision and build a new creative venture through adopting both perspectives of an entrepreneur and a business investor. The course design helps to aspire new entrepreneurs in developing great ideas into great companies by focusing on learning two key skills: how to use lean business methods to formulate each part of a business creation, and how to properly evaluate whether there is a real traction power for growth and competiveness.
