Sapir is among the largest public colleges in Israel and is a center of excellence in a variety of disciplines. Our faculty has a reputation for expert teaching and research, delivering innovative courses, meeting the needs of a rapidly changing world, in a supportive environment. The College offers undergraduate studies in 15 different academic disciplines such as: Computer Science, Economics and Management, Industrial Management, Marketing, Law, Social Work, Communications and Cinema together with eight graduate programs ranging from Entrepreneurship and Innovation to Art Therapy.

Sapir operates a range of global partnerships with academic institutions in Europe, Africa, India and North and South America.

Israel is world renowned as being the "Start-Up Nation" with an economy dominated by industrial high-tech and entrepreneurship. Sapir’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship is a groundbreaking innovation program that offers students the knowledge, skills and practical experience to develop their ideas into actual ventures. We offer state-of-the-art unique academic crash courses, which include: Design Thinking, The Entrepreneur as a Visionary, Pitching, Creative Thinking, Patents, Sharing Economy, Lean Start-Up Concepts, Financial Sources for Start-Ups, Sustainability, Impact Investments, Basic Concepts in Entrepreneurship, Trade Room, and Storytelling.

Sapir offers a variety of semester-based courses in different academic fields, including: Marketing, Communications, Cinema, Law, Economics and Social Work. These courses provide international students the opportunity to study online and in person with experts in their field, along with their Israeli peers.

Sapir’s expert faculty have designed a series of in-service-training courses in: Internationalizing and Reimagining Curriculum; Developing Virtual Exchanges; Digital Learning: Best Practices; Designing Pedagogy for Innovation; Leading in Higher Education: Rethinking Academic Disciplines; Revamping Economics Curriculum: Dynamic & Sustainable Economies.

Cure Project logo

CURE is a multi-national project, together with Georgia, coordinated by Gordon Academic College of Education. CURE enhances the quality of academic education for teacher-training through designing, developing, piloting, disseminating, and exploiting curricular reform for civic education (CE) in partner countries and beyond through:

  • Developing and piloting new courses on civic education
  • Faculty and teacher training of workshops.
  • Establishing Center for Social and Civic Involvement with student activities
  • Publishing handbooks, participating in conference that disseminate CURE’s dynamic programs.

The SILICE project will develop an open source platform that promotes social innovation ideas and international cooperation at regional level between the EU, Israel and India. It also seeks to tackle cross-cutting issues like gender-balance and equal opportunities for women. This project will develop a creative and supportive environment in partner HEIs through the establishment of SinnoLABs (Social Innovation Labs) which will contribute to the development of social economy enterprises in their diverse forms (including social enterprises) which play an important role in increasing the competitiveness and efficiency of the Israeli and Indian economy in many different ways.

DARE Project logo

Project DARE focuses on providing inclusive education in higher education for students from three vulnerable groups: women, ethnic minorities and those with disabilities. The project will assist individuals with special needs to access education, to enjoy everyday life and to overcome discrimination against them in society by providing support services and raising public awareness and acceptance. Another venue to accomplish equal opportunities for target groups is training academic and administrative staff to deliver accessible service. Thus, within DARE different professional groups will be provided with training program for enhancing their ability to approach properly individuals with disabilities and ethnic minorities.

The project aims to create partnerships between institutions of higher education in Europe, to encourage faculty exchange and  research programs and to promote European higher education in Israel. Our vision is to introduce  different learning cultures to students, who will in turn develop heightened cultural and academic awareness.

The projects is aimed towards developing new syllabi, courses and activities in LLL, which build on existing promising initiatives in the partner universities, but develop and disseminate them so that they are seen as an indispensable part of the curriculum entitlement of all students, including students in the applied fields and professionals practicing in these fields.
The consortium address the challenge of academic institutions to maintain their relevance by developing higher education curricula directed at constructing novel teaching/learning approaches of Evidence Based Practice and Learning (EBP & EBL), Team Based Learning (TBL) and New Learning Environments (NLE), some of which already practiced by the expert members from the EU institutes supporting the curricula development effort.
